Who is behind Swarovski Crystal? 

After its inception by Daniel Swarovski, the brand is carried on today by members of the Swarovski family. Inspired by decades of collaboration with prominent designers, the Swarovski family opened its first boutique in the 1980s, featuring Swarovski Jewellery and collectible crystal figurines and Christmas decorations. But even earlier than that, crystal souvenirs were created for the XII Winter Olympic Games in Innsbruck in 1976, which were the beginnings of the commercialisation of crystal decorations and figurines. A Swarovski employee glued together several chandelier pieces to form a tiny mouse, laying the foundation for the iconic figurines that fascinate a large community of fans worldwide today.
